About us

Care isn't handing over information. It's understanding who's in front of you.

Everyone arrives at pregnancy and parenthood with a life story of their own. We differ in how we learn, how we communicate, how we make decisions and how we face what's hard.

Our culture, our values, what we've lived before and the world around us all shape how we take in something new.

Care means seeing the person in front of you, and finding the right way to reach them.

A multidisciplinary team, centred on the family.

We're health and wellbeing professionals with an evidence-based approach. We work with a clear goal: to offer consistent, coordinated and useful support throughout the whole journey, from pregnancy to postpartum.

The context

There's never been more information. And never been harder to know who to trust.

More information, less context

Social media brought knowledge closer to families, but it also produced an enormous volume of fragmented content, often built on very personal experiences that don't always translate to anyone else.

Appointments that are too short

Appointments are often, inevitably, built around scans, tests and clinical decisions, leaving little room to actually know a family, understand what worries them, and build any real trust.

Everything aimed at the birth

Birth matters enormously, but it's a small part of a much longer journey. Pregnancy, the postpartum months and settling into parenthood are periods of huge physical, emotional and family change.

How we care

There's no single right way to learn how to be a parent.

  • 1Talking it through with someone
  • 2Reading and researching on your own
  • 3Going deep into the evidence
  • 4Learning from real examples and real stories
  • 5Watching, rather than reading
  • 6Sharing with families going through the same thing

None of these is better than another. They're simply different, and the way we care adapts to yours.

Our commitment

More than providing care, we want to build a relationship.

We believe women and their families deserve specialist, humane, evidence-based care. They deserve to feel known, understood and welcomed by professionals who walk beside them, answer their questions and respect the choices they make.

We want to be present, to walk alongside, to guide, and when it's needed, to hand you over to the right person without letting go.

Every family gets the education and care recommended by the World Health Organization and national guidelines. But real quality isn't only in what we tell you. It's in adapting how we care to your needs, your values and your particular path.

Membership

Continuous support, close and personalised.

Becoming a member of The Family Door means having access to continuous support throughout pregnancy and postpartum, with the integrated care of your obstetric nurse, who knows your family and follows your journey closely and personally.

From that trust-based relationship, the team can better coordinate care, make appropriate recommendations and refer to other professionals whenever needed, ensuring more complete, consistent and available support throughout the whole journey.

This continuous connection allows for more careful and collaborative preparation for birth, tailored to each family's real needs.

No two families are the same. Every path into parenthood deserves to be its own.
