Preparing for birth is not about reading an instruction manual, memorising what you have to do at every moment, or having someone tell you what the 'right' way to give birth is. Birth does not follow a script, and every woman, every baby, and every birth has its own path.
Preparing is about knowing the different paths that may arise, understanding the available options, and reflecting, together, on what is important to you and your family. It is about having enough information so that you can participate in decisions, even when the path is different from the one you imagined.
Preparing is also about looking inwards: getting to know your body better, learning to listen to it, connecting with your baby, and understanding what brings you security, confidence, and comfort.
How are you preparing for your birth? Our suggestion for today is to reflect on this topic and identify your family's needs.
