Your role is essential in protecting this first meeting between mother and baby after the birth. Whenever possible:
- Share with the team that skin-to-skin contact is your family's wish
- Stay close to the mother and baby during this moment
- If the mother is sleepy or unable to do it straight away, you can be the one to offer your baby the warmth, comfort and security they need.
